UL stands for Underwriter Laboratories, founded by William Henry Merrill in 1894, Chicago, US. Today UL headquarter is in Northbrook, Illinois and has presence in 125 countries.
With a history of more than 126 years, UL is recognized worldwide as one of the leading companies in product safety testing and certification besides FM, VDS, etc. By adopting processes and guidelines For a comprehensive guide, UL requires that its strict standards must be met before certifying any of the manufacturer's products. Up to date, billions of UL certified products exist worldwide.
Why G-Flex needs to achieve UL Listed?
As part of the fire protection system, the fire hose plays an essential role in ensuring the safety and reputation of the project investor. As one of the world's leading independent rating agencies, UL has a series of rigorous testing procedures for fire hoses for this purpose.

The UL listed mark represents GS Fire Safety's ongoing commitment to safety and quality. A UL representative will conduct an annual, unannounced inspection to verify that the UL label is only being applied to products being manufactured to UL's stringent requirements at the GS Fire Safety factory.
How did G-Flex get UL Listed?
Made in Vietnam, G-Flex series samples will be sent to UL's international testing center in Illinois, USA and undergo rigorous testing and testing procedures. G-Flex product testing procedures include:
• Hydrostatic strength and leakage test
• Vibration test
• Fatigue test
• Metallic coating thickness test
Furthermore, G-Flex also undergoes other tests at UL such as mechanical strength, high temperature exposure, pressure fracture of corrosive stainless steel, elasticity, vacuum test, etc.
All components of flexible sprinkler hose including the main hose and the fittings are tested simultaneously, and only be certified after the product has passed all UL tests.
